Details : The situation is debilitating after the current President's refusal to surrender power in December 2016. Violent clashes between protesters and security forces are often presented in several provinces of the DRC, mainly in the northern, eastern and central areas of the country.
Due to the ever-worsening security situation in the country, the Foreign Ministry advises citizens of the Republic of Cyprus who are resident, working there or intending to travel to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to avoid travelling there and to leave the country, as soon as possible, if the present situation deteriorates further.
