The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Nepal presents credentials. Kathmandu, 15 July 2019


The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Nepal (Resident in New Delhi), Mr. Agis Loizou presented his credentials to Right Honourable Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal, in an official ceremony at Sheetal Niwas (Office of the Rt. Hon’ble President), in Kathmandu, on Monday, 15 July 2019.

Presenting his credentials, Ambassador Loizou conveyed to Rt. Hon’ble President Bhandari the best wishes of H.E. President Anastasiades, the Government and the people of Cyprus and expressed gratitude for Nepal’s consistent support on the Cyprus issue. Moreover, he conveyed the desire of H.E. the President and the Government of Cyprus for further strengthening relations with Nepal in areas of mutual interest.

Furthermore, Ambassador Loizou had the opportunity to call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Hon’ble Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, and discussed bilateral issues of common interest, such as trade, tourism, education, employment and culture. The Ambassador also met with Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari, Joint Secretary (Europe-America Division) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.

Taking the opportunity, Mr. Loizou stressed the need to further strengthen the bilateral trade, business and tourism between the two countries, and assured that as new Ambassador of Cyprus to Nepal, he will do his utmost in further enhancing these relations.
