The new High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh presents credentials, Dhaka, 27 June 2019
The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (Resident in New Delhi), Mr. Agis Loizou presented his credentials to H.E. the President of the country, Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, in an official ceremony at Bangabhaban (Office of the Hon’ble President) in Dhaka, on Thursday, 27 June 2019.
Presenting his credentials, High Commissioner Loizou conveyed to President Hamid the best wishes of H.E. President Anastasiades, the Government and the people of Cyprus and expressed gratitude for Bangladesh’s consistent support on the Cyprus issue. Moreover, he conveyed the desire of H.E. the President and the Government of Cyprus for further strengthening relations with Bangladesh in areas of mutual interest.
Furthermore, High Commissioner Loizou had the opportunity to meet the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, with whom he discussed bilateral issues of common interest, such as trade, tourism, education, employment and culture were discussed.
Taking the opportunity, Mr. Loizou stressed the need to further strengthen the bilateral trade, business and tourism between the two countries, and assured that as new High Commissioner of Cyprus to Bangladesh, he will do his utmost in further enhancing these relations.
