LEGALISATION OF DOCUMENTS

Legalisation of a Signature

The legalization of a signature requires the presence of the interested person at the Embassy or any Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus in Germany, with his/her passport or identity card. The document shall be signed in the presence of the Consul and after the arrangement of the necessary appointment. The Embassy and the consulates assume no responsibility for the content of the documents signed in their presence.

The cost for a legalization is €8,54. Payments must be made in cash.

Power of Attorneys

The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Berlin does not have the facility to draw up Power of Attorneys’. Specific Power of Attorney’ documents must be prepared in advance.
For a Power of Attorney to be certified the Principal (signatory) must attend the Cyprus Embassy or any Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus in Germany in person, with the document and either a passport or a national identification card.

The cost for certifying a Power of Attorney or Verifying a Notary’s signature is €8.54. Payments must be made in cash.

Apostilles

The competent Ministry for Apostilles in Cyprus is the Ministry of Justice and Public Order. Such a document can be presented to a competent German authority without further legalization by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus.

Legalisation of Translation

There is no officially recognized translation department in the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Berlin. However, the Embassy certifies the seals and signatures of sworn translators in Germany on translations of official documents which have to be presented in Cyprus. The fee for the legalization is €8,54.
