ANNOUNCEMENT RELATED TO TRAVELLING TO CYPRUS BY DISPLACED THIRD COUNTRY CITIZENS AND UKRAINIANS
The Republic of Cyprus, in line with Article 5 of Council Directive 2001/55/EC of 20 July 2001 concerning the mass influx of displaced persons from Ukraine following the hostilities which began on 24 February 2022, decided that it will accept entry into its territory of the following categories of displaced persons:
a Holders of valid biometric and non biometric passports, irrespective of their expiration date. Holders of non biometric passports do not need a visa.
b Holders of expired biometric or non biometric passports.
c Holders of Identification Cards issued by the Government of Ukraine.
d Holders of internal passports issued by the Government of Ukraine.
e Holders of Temporary Travel Documents (laissez-passer) issued by the Government of Ukraine in case they are not in possession of the above documents (a to d)
f Underage Children which are included in their mothers passport. Original or copies of birth certificates of infants and children are accepted for entry to the Republic of Cyprus on the condition that their authenticity is certified by the Ukrainian diplomatic missions. It is suggested, if possible, that in the case of infants, a certified written consent from the parent /parents who is /are not accompanying them is made.
g Students and Workers legally residing in Ukraine before February 24th
The aforementioned persons are exempt of the obligation to fill a Cyprus Flight Pass which is related to the restrictions imposed as a result of the pandemic. In addition, they are exempt from being tested for COVID-19 prior to departure. However, upon arrival in Cyprus, they will have to undergo a COVID-19 test at the expense of the state.
It is noted that within 30 days from their arrival in Cyprus, Ukrainian citizens should apply to the Civil Registry and Migration Department for the issue of a residence permit. Therefore, they have to receive from the Embassy of Ukraine in Nicosia any documents requested by the said Department.
