On 23 November 2019, the Cypriot Gala Concert –organized by the Cypriot Cultural Centre in Vienna on an annual basis– took place once again with great success in the concert hall Brahms-Saal of the Wiener Musikverein. The Gala Concert was under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Cyprus, Dr Costas Champiaouris. Renowned artists from Cyprus and Greece, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cyprus as well as the choir of the Musical School of Larnaka participated in the concert.
At the beginning of the event, the Secretary to the Council of Ministers, Mr Theodosis Tsiolas, delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr Nicos Anastasiades. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus in Vienna, Ms Elena Rafti, the Ambassador of Greece, Ms Katherine Koika, senior representatives of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors of other countries and diplomats, as well as the Metropolitan of Kyrenia graced the concert with their presence.
