Travel Advice : Avoid all travel to certain areas

Details : Citizens of the Republic of Cyprus who are permanent residents or intend to visit Ukraine are advised to avoid travel to certain areas in the eastern parts of the country where there are areas in conflict (provinces of Donetsk and Luhansk), limit their movement and monitor news reports (international and local) for any development and follow the instructions of the local Authorities.

The Government of Ukraine has imposed martial law as of 28 November to 27 December 2018, in parts of the country neighboring Russia, the Sea of Azov, the Black Sea and at the border with Moldova, in the region of Transdniestria. The regions (oblasts) under martial law are: Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Mykolayiv, Odessa, Sumy, Vinnytsia and Zaporizhia.

No restrictions of movement have been imposed in any part of the country, nor has general recruitment been declared. There are more frequent control points and increased checks, especially for persons crossing from Crimea or between Ukraine and Russia. Caution is required at all times, as is conformity with the advice and guidance of the local authorities. Cypriot citizens should carry their passport with them at all times, for verification of their identity.
