Travel Information for Cypriot Nationals

Country : Myanmar

Travel Advice : Avoid non-essential travel to certain areas

Details : Cypriot citizens are advised to avoid non essential travel to Rakhine State, Kachin State and to Shan State. The situation in ethnic states where armed groups operate is volatile and there remains the possibility of violent clashes in other ethnic states. Furthermore, in the Central and North Rakhine State, needs are difficult to assess due to lack of access, but are likely to include: food, nutrition, health, shelter and protection.
Citizens of the Republic of Cyprus who are permanent residents, visitors or intend to travel to Myanmar, are advised to limit their movement, inform the Cypriot competent Authorities on their current status, and monitor news reports.

They are also advised to remain vigilant and follow the safety instructions of the local Authorities.

Political tension and unrest could happen at short notice. Demonstrations and large gatherings should be avoided as the security situation remains unstable and may deteriorate further.
