High Commission of the Republic of Cyprus in Pretoria

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus in Pretoria Mr. Petros T. Nacouzis and his spouse hosted a reception on Friday 5 October 2012 at their residence on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus. The reception was attended by Heads of Diplomatic Missions and other members of the diplomatic corps, members of the political and economic life of South Africa and many members of our community.

The event, attended by more than 400 persons, included speeches from the High Commissioner and from the Director of Mediterranean Europe Directorate of the Political Division of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa Ms. Selly Ramokgopa, who represented the Government of the Republic of South Africa, as well as a cultural programme.

The music trupe “Mousa” (Muse) of Mr. Michalis Terlikkas presented to the public traditional Cypriot songs. The presence of this band is part of the cultural events that are held during the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
