Abstract of the introductory remarks of Ambassador T.S Shambos

This is a very exciting project for Cyprus as it relates to the promotion of research, innovation and high technology. The ultimate goal of the project is the contribution towards the diversification of Cyprus’ economy, beyond traditional pillars such as services and tourism, catalyzing the transformation of Cyprus into a regional applied knowledge-based hub. Obviously we have everything to learn from the one of a kind Israeli experience in this respect.

We are hence delighted that our excellent bilateral relations, our ever increasing people to people contacts and cooperation, our similar work ethos, as well as the minute geographic distance between Cyprus and Israel offer a robust and trustworthy platform for a beneficial and reliable partnership of shared interests in this specific area.
