Visa Information for Turkish and Azeri Citizens
    Visa Information for residents of Turkey and holders of Turkish Passports

    Holders of Turkish passports (regular, service, official, diplomatic) need a visa to enter the Republic of Cyprus. An entry visa to Cyprus may only be obtained by the applicant in person at the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens (not at the airport).
    In order to obtain the necessary visa, the applicant must visit the Embassy of Cyprus, Xenofontos street No. 2A, 105 57, Athens (near Syntagma Square), Greece (tel. +30210-3734870 and fax +30210-3734903), where he/she will undergo an interview with a Consular Officer. The Embassy is located in downtown Athens, which is about 50 minutes drive from the airport, depending of course on the traffic, or 40 minutes by metro (Airport - Syntagma)

    Please note that for holders of Turkish passports a visa pre-approval procedure is needed, as follows:
    Send a visa application form fully completed and signed along with the necessary via fax (+30210 3734903) or e-mail cyemb4@otenet.gr at least 15 working days prior to the applicant’s visit to Cyprus (original documents must be later presented to the Embassy’s Consular Officer):

    To this extend, the visa application should be accompanied by the following documents:

    1. Copy of applicant’s valid passport.

    2. A letter from the applicant’s employer [i.e. company, university, organisation or sports club] (in Turkey).

    3. An invitation letter (from business or other contacts in Cyprus, seminar/conference, sporting event/ meetings, friends or family etc).
        And an
    4. “Assumption of Responsibility for Hosting” signed and certified by a certifying officer in Cyprus

    5. Runway airplane tickets to/from Cyprus (not paid)

    6. Prepaid Hotel reservation or other accommodation details.
      If the applicant is to be hosted by a resident of Cyprus, then the host will have to send:
    · a signed and certified (by a certified officer) “Assumption of Responsibility for Hosting
    · a copy of the hosts’ ID or passport, copy of his/her Resident Permit in Cyprus (if he/she is not a Cypriot citizen).
    · an employment letter by the host person.

    7. Bank statement of the applicant (latest account details).

    8. One passport size photo attached on the Visa Application Form.
      9. Copy of a Bank Guarantee by the host (person, company, university, organization) in Cyprus, at any time if considered necessary. The Bank Guarantee needs to be certified and sent to the Embassy after having been submitted to the Civil Registry and Migration Department.


      Visa Fee: 80€ [eighty euros] for a Single, double or multiple entry visa.

      Please take into consideration that:
      · Passports must be valid at least six months before the intended travel to Cyprus.
        Important Note:
        The Government of the Republic of Cyprus is the only internationally recognised Government on the island of Cyprus. In this regard, travellers entering the Republic of Cyprus via the illegal/closed airports and ports in the turkish occupied northern part of Cyprus are in breach of the national law of the Republic of Cyprus. Therefore, travellers holding a valid Cypriot visa are urged to travel via the recognised ports of entry which are situated in the area under the effective control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus (i.e. Larnaca International Airport, Paphos International Airport).
