Yannis St. Makrides is the first Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Samara.
He is a public servant at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Tourism since 1981. On October 2012 he secondment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish the Consulate General in Samara.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration from the Cyprus Institute of Marketing. He is also a holder of a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Abertay Dundee UK and a Master of Science (MSc) in Strategic Marketing Management from the Anglia Polytechnic University, Chelmsford, UK.
On 2000, he became a Member (MCIM) of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the same year a Chartered Marketer.
He speaks Greek (native language), English (working knowledge) and Russian (very basic knowledge).
He is married to Chryso A. Stylianou and they have three children, two sons and a daughter.
