Consul General


Maria Symeonidou is the second Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Yekaterinburg.
She was born in Nicosia and her place of origin is Lapithos, Kerynia district. She holds a (Bsc) in Economics from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Through her postgraduate studies she earned a PGC in Computer Science and a Master of Public Sector Management.
She worked in the private sector as an analyst/programmer and she joined the civil service in 1992. From 1992 to 2014 she served in the Ministry of Finance and on March 2014 she was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She officially assumed the duties of Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Yekaterinburg on October 1st, 2019.
She speaks Greek and English. She has good understanding of French and basic understanding of Russian.
She is married to Marios Symeonides and has two children, George and Kalia.
