This morning at the headquarters of the UN Office in Geneva, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works of Cyprus, Mr. Alecos Michaelides, was elected to the Bureau of the Team of Specialists on Public-Private Partnerships (TOS-PPP) of the Committee of Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnerships of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Mr. Michaelides will serve as one of the Vice-Chairs of the Bureau for a term of two years. After the elections, Mr. Michaelides participated as a panelist in a discussion on the role that people-first PPPs can play in the pursuit of the goals set by the Sustainable Development Agenda.
The Permanent Mission congratulates Mr. Michaelides for his election and wishes him every success in the execution of his mandate.
