Olympia NEOCLEOUS

Olympia Neocleous has been nominated as the Republic of Cyprus’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organisations and the World Trade Organisation in Geneva. She assumed her duties on July 15th 2021.
Born in August 1975, in Limassol, Cyprus, Olympia joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus in 1999 and has since served in a variety of posts at Headquarters and diplomatic missions abroad.
From 2016 - 2019, she served as the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the European Union and as Permanent Representative to COREPER I. She was the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Washington DC (2010-2015), and previously served in Athens (2003-2007) and Paris (2001-2003). She worked as Cabinet Expert in the Cabinet of Stella Kyriakides, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety (2020) and as Seconded National Expert in DG Enlargement in the European Commission (2008-2010). She was Head of the EU Policies Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia in 2015-2016.
Olympia holds a Bachelor of Laws from University College London, a Master of Science in Theory and History of International Relations from the London School of Economics and is a Barrister at Law of the Inner Temple.
She is in a civil union partnership with Marko Bucik and has a daughter, Gaia Helena, and a son, Neilos Alexandros.
