The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Alexandros N. Zenon, has concluded today his contacts in Geneva, where he participated in the High Level Segment of the 31st Session of the Human Rights Council.
Ambassador Zenon addressed yesterday the Plenary of the Human Rights Council, focusing on safeguarding Human Rights in the light of current challenges, especially under the threat of terrorism. A video of the speech can be retrieved here:

Separate meetings were held with the Director General of the UN Offices in Geneva, Mr. Michael Møller and the High Commissioner for Human Rights Mr. Zeid Ra'ad al Hussein [photo below], with both officials being briefed by the Permanent Secretary on the latest developments in the negotiations for a solution to the Cyprus Problem.
Ambassador Zenon held also meetings with the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bahrein, Mr. Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri, with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece, Mr Ioannis Amanatides, and the Minister and President of the Human Rights Commission of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Bandar bin Mohammed Alaiban, where issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
