According to the current regulations in place (w.e.f. 20 February 2015), the new Cypriot identity cards are to be issued bio-metric only, for which the prospective applicants have to visit either Cyprus or the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Cyprus abroad, which are equipped with bio-metric stations.
As the Cyprus High Commission in New Delhi was equipped with a bio-metric station on 29 November 2017, it started receiving relevant applications with immediate effect.
Other diplomatic missions of the Republic of Cyprus, which are equipped with such facility are Berlin, Beirut, Cairo, Tel Aviv, Athens, Stockholm, Moscow, London, Pretoria, Paris, The Hague, Toronto, New York, Washington, Canberra, Vienna, Madrid and Doha.
Interested applicants may either visit Cyprus or the nearest diplomatic missions equipped with the above facility.
