     Consular Services

The Embassy offers a full range of consular services for Cypriot citizens residing in Bulgaria (such as receiving applications for passports, birth certificates, citizenship etc). It also provides Cypriots visiting Bulgaria assistance, if needed.

Moreover, a wide range of other services is offered to residents of Bulgaria. All fees are paid in Bulgarian Levs.

  • Issue of a visa for the Republic of Cyprus
The Embassy issues visas for citizens of Third Countries, whose nationals are required to have a visa to visit Cyprus, according to the following Entry Regulations for the Republic of Cyprus.

As of April 5, 2010 in accordance with Regulation 265/2010 of the European Parliament and of the Council, citizens of third countries who need a visa, can travel to Cyprus for visit without a Cyprus national visa if they have residence permit issued by another Member State of the European Union. The maximum stay is 90 days within six months period as from the date of first entry in Cyprus. This provision does not apply to Turkish nationals and citizens who are in the stop list of the Republic of Cyprus. Citizens, who wish to travel to Cyprus on the basis of the above regulation, shall, if requested by the border control to demonstrate the purpose of the trip and the availability of sufficient funds to cover their stay. Before traveling, please be informed by the embassy of any changes to the rules for entry into the Republic of Cyprus.
  • Certification of authenticity of signature
The signature must be placed on the document before an officer of the Embassy. Please note that the person signing the document must produce proof of his/her identity (passport/identity card). The fee for this service is 17,64 Leva (equivalent of €9,00) per certification.
  • Certification of a document as a true copy
The original document needs to be brought along for inspection. The fee charged is 3,35 Leva (equivalent of €1,71) per certification.
  • Legalization of a document
The official seal or the signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus may be legalized by the Embassy. Also documents, legalized by the bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The fee for legalization is also 3,35 Leva (equivalent of €1,71).
  • Issue of a Clear Criminal Record Certificate
A Clear Criminal Record Certificate is issued by the Cyprus Police to Cypriot citizens and to foreigners who resided in Cyprus for more than 6 months and have been registered in the Immigration Services. The application must be accompanied by a copy of passport or ID card and for foreigners a copy of their Residence Permit. The fee is 39,20 Leva (equivalent of €20,00).
