The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concluded his visit to Israel - 11/09/2015
| The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Alexandros N. Zenon, concluded his two-day working visit (10-11 September 2015) in Israel, where he held consultations in Jerusalem with his Israeli counterpart General Director, Mr Dore Gold, in the framework of the regular political dialogue between Cyprus and Israel.
During the extensive consultations, the two sides reaffirmed the strategic level of cordial relations between Israel and Cyprus and renewed their commitment to work further towards closer relations in areas such as energy, security, tourism and research and innovation.
Also, the relations between the EU and Israel, regional issues, with emphasis on the situation in Syria, Iraq, Iran and counter terrorism issues, were especially discussed with Israeli officials.
Permanent Secretary Zenon also met with the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mrs Tzipi Hotovely, the Deputy National Security Adviser, Mr Eran Lerman, and the EU’s Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Mr Fernando Gentilini. |
