General Information for Cypriot Visitors to Israel

Holders of passports of the Republic of Cyprus do not require a visa to visit Israel for tourism purposes for stays of less than three months.   Persons who wish to stay longer must contact the Ministry of Interior while in Israel to request an extension of their permission to remain.

Contact details for the Ministry of the Interior are as follows:

Helpline: *3450 or 12223450 (Within Israel – English speakers should be available)
Email:
info@moin.gov.il
Website (Hebrew only):
www.moin.gov.il

Long-term Israeli residence for non-Jewish Cypriot immigrants is usually on the basis of either a work visa or permission to reside with an Israeli spouse or partner.

Work visas must be arranged directly by the employer in Israel with the Ministry of the Interior.  Under Israeli law, all persons who intend to work in Israel (short business trips excluded) require a work visa.

Applications to reside with an Israeli spouse/partner must be made by the spouse/partner with the Ministry of the Interior, who will require evidence of the relationship.

Enquiries regarding residence permits for students should be directed, in the first instance, to the relevant university or academic institution in Israel.  If travelling to Israel for less than three months, students can normally enter as a tourist.

These are broad guidelines only and it is recommended that persons interested in immigrating to Israel contact the Israeli Embassy in Nicosia for further details.
