GENERAL INFORMATION:
Cyprus is not yet part of the Schengen area. This means that the visas issued by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Beijing are nationals visas, valid for Cyprus only, and do not allow the holder of the visa to travel to other European countries, who are members of the Schengen area.
Please note that Chinese nationals, holders of a valid double or multiple entry visa issued by a Schengen state, as well as Bulgaria, Croatia or Romania may travel to Cyprus without a Cypriot national visa and stay in Cyprus for a period equal to the remainder of the time for which the Schengen visa is valid.
Please also note that Chinese nationals, holders of a valid Residence Permit issued by a Schengen state, as well as Bulgaria, Croatia or Romania may also travel to Cyprus without a Cypriot national visa and stay in Cyprus for a period not longer than 90 days in any 6 months.
The legal ports of entry into the Republic of Cyprus are the airports of Larnaka (Larnaca) and Pafos (Paphos) and the ports of Larnaka (Larnaca), Lemesos (Limassol), Latsi and Pafos (Paphos), which are situated in the area under the effective control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus. Entry into the territory of the Republic of Cyprus via any other port or airport in which the Government of the Republic does not exercise effective control (Turkish occupied areas) is illegal.
All visa applicants are encouraged to submit their visa applications at the Visa Application Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Beijing. All applicants may be called to attend an interview. The processing time for an application is usually seven (7) working days, however this may vary according to the circumstances of each application.
The Consular section of the Republic of Cyprus reserves the right to ask for further documents, in order to prove the applicant’s good faith.
Please, also, note that submitting all requested documents does not guarantee automatic issuance of a visa.
The Authorities of the Republic of Cyprus retain the right to cancel or reduce at the points of entry the duration of stay of any visa, informing the visa holder accordingly. |
