Please also consider the following important information:
1. For entering the Republic of Cyprus a valid passport is required except for holders of:
• Laissez-passer issued by the United Nations. Nationals of Egypt and Israel can enter Cyprus with a Laissez-Passer provided they hold an entry permit previously obtained by the Immigration Department in Nicosia.
• Travel documents issued by the Government of the Republic of Cyprus to Cypriot nationals.
• Documents issued to stateless persons and recognized refugees.
• Citizens of the European Union countries, as well as Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway may enter Cyprus with their national identity card provided there is a photo.
2. Passports of foreign nationals, non-residents, must be valid three (3) months beyond the period of intended stay. Passengers who wish to obtain a visa are required a passport valid at least 6 months beyond the period of intended stay.
3. Admission is refused to holders of “passports” issued illegally by the occupation regime of the secessionist entity, so-called “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" (“TRNC” has been denied any international recognition and has been condemned and declared as illegal by the whole of International Community through Security Council Resolutions 541/83 and 550/84.) Other nationals whose passports bear the stamps or visas of the so-called “TRNC” are allowed to enter Cyprus after the above-mentioned visas/stamps are cancelled by the Immigration Authorities of the Republic of Cyprus.
4. Passengers who have entered Cyprus via the illegal airport of Tymbou, situated in the occupied part of the island, or the port of Famagusta, Kyrenia or Karavostassi which have been declared closed and inoperative by the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, will be refused entry into the free areas. The airports of Larnaca and Paphos and the ports of Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos and Latsi, are situated in the free areas of the Republic of Cyprus. Leaving the free areas of the Republic of Cyprus via the aforementioned illegal airport or the closed ports of Famagusta, Kyrenia or Karavostassi is forbidden.
5. Visas are only issued at the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus. Visas are not issued at the airport or other port of entry.
WARNING: Non-compliance with the entry regulations will result in the deportation of the visitor.

Admission and transit restrictions:
Entry regulations apply only to the areas controlled by the Government of the Republic of Cyprus.
Passport: Required, except for holders of:
Laissez-Passer issued by the United Nations.
Document issued to stateless persons and recognised refugees.
Further to the above, citizens of the European Union countries, as well as of Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway may enter Cyprus with their national identity card (provided there is a photo indenfiction on it)
The Government of the Republic of Cyprus refuses admission to:
Holders of "passports" issued illegally by the secessionist entity, the so-called "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" (TRNC)
Note:
1. The Government of the Republic of Cyprus is the only recognised Government on the island - member of the EU since 1.5.2004, as well as member of the UN and other International Organisations. As a result of the Turkish military presence and occupation, the Government of the Republic of Cyprus is not in a position to exercise control over the occupied areas of the Republic. The so-called "TRNC" has been condemned and declared as both illegal and invalid by the whole of the International Community through Security Council Resolutions 541/83 and 550/84. With the sole exception of Turkey, no state in the world or International Organisation recognises the secessionist entity.
2. Presently, it is possible for foreign tourists who visit the government-controlled area of the Republic of Cyprus, to cross to the occupied areas.
3. Staying in Greek Cypriot owned hotels in the occupied areas, which are being illegally exploited, would put you at great risk of possible legal action on the part of the owners.
4. Travellers entering the Republic of Cyprus via the illegal / closed airports and ports (i.e. all the airports and ports in the occupied areas), may still face the consequences of the Laws of the Republic. Therefore, you are urged to travel via the recognised ports of entry, so as to avoid any possible problems (provided that a visa has been granted to you). The legal ports of entry into the Republic of Cyprus are the airports of Larnaca and Paphos and the ports of Larnaca, Limassol, Latsi and Paphos, which are situated in the area under the effective control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus. Any entry into the territory of the Republic of Cyprus via any other port or airport in the area of Cyprus in which the Government of the Republic does not exercise effective control (Turkish occupied area) is illegal".
For those intending to be employed in Cyprus, the issuance of an employment permit by the Civil Archive and Migration Office is required and no visa is required in order to travel to Cyprus.
